Seniors have a variety of different needs, and one of the most common ones is the need for safe, reliable transportation. That’s something we seek to address through our Care Van program. The Foundation for Senior Care is proud to offer this Service to seniors who need help getting around. The Care Van operates throughout our immediate community, and provides transportation for many individuals in the North San Diego County area.

This is just one way in which we seek to support the older folks in our part of the world, right alongside our offerings in Senior Day Care, Senior Care Advocacy, and even Computer Learning Classes.

The Care Van provides door-to-door transportation to seniors from throughout the area. This includes trips to medical appointments, the grocery store, and the pharmacy. Of course, we are also happy to deliver seniors safely to and from our Senior Day Care Center.

The Care Van runs Monday through Friday, with basic hours of 9 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon. Those interested in using this service should note that a reservation is needed, and we encourage you to make it no less than 48 hours in advance. As we provide rides to our seniors, we prioritize medical and physical therapy appointments over all else.

This raises the question: What can you do to support our Care Rides program? One way local businesses can help is to consider sponsorship opportunities. Each year we provide more than 6,100 rides to individuals from within Our Community, which means that our vehicles are highly visible. By sponsoring what we do, your company can get its name out there where everyone can see it, advertised on one of our Care Van vehicles. By sponsoring us, you can help offset the significant expenses of this service, including more than $30,000 in annual fuel and maintenance expenses. We offer a variety of advertising options, and are grateful for any and all support in keeping our Care Van program operational.
