Senior Care Services
At the Foundation For Senior Care, we believe in treating all members of our community with honor, dignity and respect. That is the attitude that underscores everything we do for senior citizens, as well as those who are disabled or coping with some form of memory loss. Our aim is to help these individuals live independently for as long as possible, and in pursuit of that goal we offer several different services—Day Care, Senior Advocacy, Transportation, and even a Computer Learning Center.
We are a non-profit organization, and though we work closely with other local non-profits and social services, our agency is ultimately powered by donations. We invite you to explore our list of service offerings and catch a glimpse of what we are doing in the community. To learn more, we invite you to contact us today.
We are proud to offer seniors in our area the opportunity to use our Care Vans, which provide safe and dependable door-to-door transportation services for a modest $7 suggested round-trip donation. We know that mobility is sometimes an issue for seniors, and we are happy to assist them get to wherever they need to go—whether it is to our Adult Day Care Center, a doctor’s appointment, the grocery store, or the pharmacy. Note that riding in the Care Van is free, underwritten by the generous donations of our sponsors and supporters; those who wish to pitch in a bit for their transportation service are encouraged to do so. A reservation is needed, at least 48 hours in advance, and medical appointments are always prioritized by our drivers.
Senior Day Care
A big part of what we do is simply hanging out with our senior friends, Monday through Friday from 9 in the morning until 5 in the evening. Our Senior Day Care Center is a safe and supportive environment for those who are older or who have special needs but still crave some socialization and stimulation. The cost runs $75 per day, and that price encompasses a wide range of activities—activities that may include cooking, games, crafts, discussions, snacks, entertainment, and more.
Senior Advocacy is another big part of what we do. We have experienced case managers on our staff who meet regularly with our clients and their families, often in the privacy of their home. The goal of these advocacy services is simply to listen to these older or disabled individuals, to get a feel for what their needs are and how we could better help them. Our case managers work with a number of local organizations and government offices to ensure the highest quality of service and care; among them are North County Fire Protection District, Fallbrook Volunteer Sheriff Senior Patrol/YANA (You Are Not Alone), Fallbrook Food Pantry, Adult Protective Services, American Red Cross, Lifeline, People to People, and more.
Computer Learning Center
A final service we offer is the Computer Learning Center, where anyone over 50 years old is welcome to come study some of the basics of using a computer, the Internet, and social media. We have a volunteer staff of world-class instructors who not only know their subject matter front to back, but are skilled in communicating with our clients. We keep the classes deliberately small; only eight people are allowed in each one, which ensures that everyone gets ample hands-on attention and care. Because of this, advanced signup is required to get into one of our classes!
Computer and Internet Class for Seniors
We have a number of rotating classes, all of which last for a couple of hours a day, once to twice a week, for about six weeks straight. You can see a full schedule of upcoming courses Here.
We are grateful for the opportunities we have to work with seniors in a variety of capacities, and we thank those who make this work possible through their generous donations. Adult Day Care
We also offer adult care services to those who need them, including members of our community who may be disabled or dealing with cognitive impairment. Our Adult Day Care Center provides activities that are tailored to meet the needs of the folks gathered with us, which means everything we do is safe and comfortable. We strive to provide opportunities for connection, friendship and cognitive engagement—but more than anything, we just want to get to know people, to offer them love and encouragement, and to keep them safe throughout the day.
