The Foundation for Senior Care Names Theresa Geracitano as Outreach and Development Officer

The Foundation for Senior Care has created a new position—part of its broader plan for strategic growth—and staffed it with Theresa Geracitano.

Fallbrook, Calif. – October 04, 2016

The Foundation for Senior Care provides meaningful advocacy services to older Americans throughout the Northern San Diego area—and as the needs of this demographic grow, so does the Foundation itself. This summer, The Foundation for Senior Care created a new position, Outreach and Development Officer, to help facilitate long-term strategic growth. The position has now been filled by Theresa Geracitano.

The hiring of Geracitano is part of a strategic plan to grow the organization. Geracitano’s role within the Foundation for Senior Care is a complex one, as she is tasked with everything from volunteer recruitment to fundraising efforts to outreach within the community. Her own background more than prepares her for the job. Geracitano has ample experience in marketing, even owning her own marketing firm for seven years.

“Hiring Theresa into this role speaks well to where the Foundation is right now,” Rachel Mason, Executive Director said. “The mere fact that we are adding a new position shows that we are growing, and with Theresa on board we hope to expand the services we can offer in some big ways, including a wider area of geographic coverage.”

Already Geracitano has been hard at work planning some ambitious new fundraisers—the first of which, A Night in Oz, is upcoming on October 29 at the Pala Mesa Resort. This is the 11th annual fall fundraising gala for The Foundation for Senior Care.

“I am excited about the position and to be part of an organization that has such a positive effect on the community and on seniors in particular,” Geracitano concludes. “I have long wanted to work somewhere where I felt I could truly make a difference, and the Foundation touches the lives of over half the seniors in the Greater Fallbrook area, over 5,000 a year. I am thrilled to be part of such a great team who is united in its purpose to serve seniors and disabled individuals.”
