The Foundation for Senior Care has announced details for its 11th annual fall gala, a major fundraising event for their various community services.
Fallbrook, Calif. (PRWEB) October 18, 2016
Day after day, the Foundation for Senior Care provides a number of meaningful services to seniors in the Fallbrook community—and once each year, it throws a gala event, formerly called Dinner with the Docs, to raise funds, build awareness, and thank the community for their investment. This year will mark the 11th annual fall gala, with the theme of A Night in Oz. The event, which includes auctions and a formal dinner, will be held on the evening of October 29. The gala will be held at the Pala Mesa Resort in Fallbrook, and tickets are on sale now.
True to its name, A Night in Oz will be modeled loosely on the classic film The Wizard of Oz, complete with an on-site Scarecrow, Tin Man, Cowardly Lion—even munchkins! A silent auction will begin the event, during this time appetizers and drinks will be passed around. Following the auction, gala guests will be ushered down a Yellow Brick Road where a magnificent dinner will await them. Special presentations and a live auction will also take place during the dinner service.
Those who participate in the auction will have unique opportunities to win some truly remarkable packages. Some of the live auction items will include a one-week stay in a two-bedroom suite at the Tamarack Beach Resort, a one-hour private flight over San Diego, one week at a two-bedroom luxury Nicaraguan villa on the Pacific coast, and a three-night stay at the Flying E Dude Ranch in Arizona. More than anything, though, the event will provide a chance for guests to support the good work being done by the Foundation for Senior Care.
“These services are not offered anywhere else in the community,” Theresa Geracitano, Outreach and Development Officer said. “We serve over half of the senior population in the Greater Fallbrook area, over 5,000 individuals a year—and that’s only possible through the support of the community. This gala will be an important night for us all to work toward a better future for Fallbrook’s senior population.”
A big goal of A Night in Oz is to raise funding to acquire a new wheelchair-accessible van, which will be used in the Foundation’s senior-centric transportation service, The Care Van. With that said, proceeds will ultimately go to each of the Foundation’s core services—not only transportation, but Senior Advocacy, a Senior Computer Learning Center, and The Club, an adult day care that provides respite for seniors and caregivers alike.
“We invite anyone who supports our mission to join us for what promises to be a magical and meaningful evening,” Geracitano said.
