Family Tree Maker/Genealogy Class

Event Date:
July 8, 2020
Event Time:
9:30 am
Event Location:
Online via Zoom
Wednesdays 9:30 – 11:30 AM: July 8, 15, 22 & 29 (Four 2-hour sessions)
Class Description: The first two sessions will include an introduction & search of the on-line genealogy sites including Ancestry.com. The last two class sessions will provide a short course on the Family Tree Maker software. We will be working with Ancestry.com and you will need to get a subscription before class starts. (Ancestry gives you a two-week free trial). The last two class sessions will be dedicated to building & updating your Family Tree using Family Tree Maker and Ancestry.com.
What to Have at the Zoom Session – Computer (desk top or laptop (either PC or Mac)) to search the internet and later to save your family tree on Family Tree Maker 2019 (a software package available for purchase on-line. Please make sure you get the latest version.) Note: You could do your internet research on-line with a Smartphone or tablet, but it is significantly harder and slower without the benefits of a larger screen and the ability to easily print results and charts.
Family Tree Maker is recommended as it is the leading Genealogy software and is linked to Ancestry.com. The results online and on your computer will always be in sync.
Prerequisite: Basic working knowledge of your computer
Instructor: Bob Cebulski
