Alzheimer’s Family Education Series

This three-part family educational series through the Alzheimer’s Association provides education, practical guidance and tools to those caring for someone with dementia. Please join us to learn about Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia’s, compassionate communication techniques, and managing challenging behaviors associated with dementia. Effective Communication Strategies – Tuesday, August 13, 2019, 10:00 am to 11:00 am

Learn to decode the verbal and behavioral messages delivered by someone with dementia, and identify strategies to help you connect and communicate at each stage of the disease.

 

Understanding and Responding to Dementia-Related Behavior – Tuesday, September 10, 2019, 10:00 am to 11:00 pm

Learn about some of the common triggers for behaviors associated with dementia, how to assess the person’s needs, and how to intervene effectively.

  1. Please keep me on your list for any events regarding Alzheimer’s and general senior care. I found the “Effective Communication Strategies” session very helpful but had to miss the 1st and last sessions in the series.
